Want your money to stay in the Ruaha community? Look for the green Locally owned badge: these are Tanzanian-owned lodges in the villages outside the gate. Or book the park-run TANAPA bandas, where fees fund the park itself. Owner/family-run camps are long-term resident operators; safari companies are (often excellent) professional brands.
