What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Ruaha National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.
- Park entry$30 plus 18% VAT, charged per 24 hours.

- Vehicle$40 plus VAT for a foreign-registered vehicle up to 2,000 kg; most safari 4x4s sit above that and pay $150 plus VAT. A Tanzanian-registered one is about $9.

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $354 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.

Questions about Jabali Ridge
Is Jabali Ridge good for families?
Yes, with a minimum age of five. The lodge has eight suites with king-sized beds and private verandas, though none are configured as multi-room family units. Walking safaris need guests to be 12 or older, so younger children are limited to game drives and the infinity pool.
Can you self-drive to Jabali Ridge?
No, Jabali Ridge is fly-in only. The closest airstrip is Msembe, about 50 minutes from camp by road, and the rate includes transfers to and from it. The lodge's own page describes no self-drive route, so plan to arrive by charter or scheduled flight.
What does the rate at Jabali Ridge include?
Full board, house drinks except premium wines and champagne, a private vehicle and guide, night drives, shared walking safaris between June and 15 February, and airstrip transfers. Park fees, concession fees, the Asilia conservation charge, spa treatments and gratuities are charged separately.
Is Jabali Ridge good for a honeymoon?
It suits a honeymoon well. Suites have private verandas with a sunken outdoor lounge, and there is an infinity pool built into the boulders plus a spa on site. The lodge does not advertise a dedicated honeymoon suite or plunge pool, so ask about room position when you book.
When is Jabali Ridge open?
Jabali Ridge is open from June to mid-March and closes from mid-March to the end of May. Rates run from $880 a person in low season to $1,600 in high season, from July to October. Walking safaris run from June to 15 February and cannot be guaranteed after that date.
